The Anjeed
Kafanchan Solar

The Anjeed Kafanchan Solar is a fully developed 100 MegaWatts (MW) on-grid solar project on a 265 ha of land in Kafanchan/Kagoro in Kaduna State. The 100MW grid-connected facility will generate energy that will surpass the power demand of the local governments connected to the substation, giving access to clean, renewable and reliable power to more than 500,000 Nigerians.

Increased demand by a growing population, paired with structural reforms, make this the perfect time for the Anjeed Kafanchan Solar Project. Nigeria’s power sector holds great potential for companies that can plan strategically to fulfill long-term vision, and follow through with the hard work. This is a unique moment in African history to be in business. African economies have grown at a high and sustained rate, tripling since 2000, and are predicted to remain among the fastest growing in the world for the foreseeable future.

Support Program

Partnered with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (English: German Agency for International Cooperation GmbH), often simply shortened to GIZ, is the main German development agency.

The objective of the GIZ Energy Support Program Work Package 3 was to support the development of five Rural Electrification Plans (RrE-Plans) in the NESP partner states Niger, Ogun, Cross River, Plateau and Sokoto as well as to support the integration of state-level electrification planning on Federal level.

It is the objective of the assignment to provide an assessment of state-level planning institutions, their practises as well as to identify key actors on civil servant as well as on political level. This work would reveal how rural electrification has been planned on state level and what changes are currently taking place.
